Skking in Colfosco - ski slope Forcelles

Winter in the DOlomites

A white wonderland

Skiing on the slopes of the Dolomites in Alta Badia is an experience in a class of its own, characterised by splendour, magic and sheer joy. A superb network of ski lifts, cross-country skiing, ski touring and snowshoeing: The snow-covered landscape of the Dolomites is a one-of-a-kind natural spectacle - and you the protagonist.

Skiing in Alta Badia - Dolomiti Superski

The Alta Badia ski area ranks amongst the most renowned in the world. Right at its heart is the Dolomiti Superski carousel: with 1,200 kilometres of slopes and 460 ski lifts, it represents the largest ski network in the Alps. The lift facilities can be reached within a very short time from our hotel, thus allowing you to directly access the Dolomites' finest ski circuit - the Sellaronda. Experiencing it on your skis is an unrivalled event.

Ski touring Störes Alta Badia

If you feel like tackling the snow-white peaks on your skis and want to escape the hustle and bustle of the slopes, there are plenty of magnificent ski touring trails to choose from. One of these is a tour to Pralongià - an impressive and panoramic itinerary nestled between the spectacular mountain ranges of the Dolomites. The trail leads through a fairytale-like forest of firs and larches before it crosses the extensive Störes meadows on its way to the summit after a rewarding effort. Up here, the view wanders over the Marmolada, Sella Group, Sassongher, Conturines peak, Lagazuoi, Fanes Group and Sas de Pütia. A sweeping panorama, a genuine spectacle of nature.

Cross-Country skiing Aremntarola

Alta Badia entices with more than 40 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks. There is something truly magical about our touring tip: the Armentarola meadows beneath the imposing Sas dla Crusc/Sasso di Santa Croce in the heart of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. A large parking area is located in the hamlet of La Calciara, above Furnacia and just outside the village of La Val. From here, you can take a leisurely 20-minute walk until you reach the start of the ski slopes. Quite marvellous!

Snowshoeing in Alta Badia

When snow becomes poetry. Winter hiking or snowshoeing is the very best way to discover and enjoy the captivating charm of the Dolomites, well away from the hustle and bustle of the ski areas. There are more than 80 kilometres of winter hiking trails as well as a great variety of snow-covered itineraries waiting to be discovered in Alta Badia. Our favourite: A leisurely walk that starts in Corvara or Colfosco and leads you past glistening white meadows and forests all the way to the fascinating Pisciadú waterfalls. Awe inspiring!
